The experienced and reliable people who maintain and repair American cars in Bulgaria have always been very few. The main reason is the rarity of these vehicles in the country in general. The number of the classic American cars in Bulgaria is rapidly increasing in the last 10 years through. So is the demand for a good service shop and experienced mechanics.
And here is the good news: From the beginning of 2021 there is a new service shop dedicated to the maintenance, repair and restoration of classic cars and especially for the American ones. It is located in the city of Stara Zagora, which is in the middle of the country and will be convenient for many people, across the country. The service shop has modern equipment, tooling and facilities that are freshly imported from the US.
Another important advantage is the experience of the owner/operator Gancho Ganchev. He owned and operated a service shop in Chicago, IL for 25 years and has a great experience in the classic American cars.
1968 Buick Riviera with a 455 engine
He has restored a number of classic cars and some of them are even in Bulgaria. His personal favorite is a modified 1969 Buick Riviera with a 455 engine.
1966 Chrysler 300 convertible
Another interesting classic brought back to life by him is a mighty 1966 Chrysler 300 convertible with original 440 engine and Fi-Tech fuel injection installed.
1972 Chevrolet Impala convertible
The list goes on with 1972 Chevrolet Impala convertible which is under restoration and some 70s Mercedes Benz cars.
Gancho also owns a couple of very nice originals: 1972 Mustang Convertible and 1976 Lincoln Continental Town Car that still has original paint.
Gancho still has many contacts in Chicago area in the car business and restoration, which can help with finding rare parts. Another advantage is his experience with the transportation of cars and parts from the US which can also help in the restoration or maintenance of old American cars in Bulgaria.
