Shortly after I imported my first gold 1978 Trans am a good friend of mine asked me to find him 1960 Chevrolet Impala 4 door flat top. This model was one of his most favorite cars, because he remembers a light blue car in his city when he was young. His budget was tight, so I had to find just a good driver condition car.
After several months of online searching across the US, a Craigslist’s ad in Detroit area caught my attention. It was black on black car in running condition with good chrome, fair interior and body. It had a 350 Chevy engine from the 70s and a 4-speed manual transmission (Saginaw). It was in much better condition compared to all other cars available.
I got in touch with the seller. He was friendly and cooperative. We made the deal easily and I arranged the payment and the transportation of the vehicle to Bulgaria. The car arrived in the summer of 2015. As we expected it needed some body work and some mechanical attention, but my friend was satisfied. It was the only 1960 Chevrolet in Bulgaria in running condition. My friend decided to repaint it in his favorite light blue color almost immediately, so I was never able to see it in person in black color. The Impala received quite a good paint job and soon my friend started enjoying it. Eventually this car was chosen for a wedding car for a few times over the years. Now it has a special place in the car collection of my friend.
