Soon after I sold the black 1978 Trans am on behalf of my good friend, he decided that he wants to have more Mustangs. By that time, he had two fastbacks Mach 1 and wanted to add cars from the first generation of the model. I got my task to find two projects: a coupe and a convertible. Both had to be projects with 6-cylinder engines and manual transmissions. And both had to be very cheap. I tried to convince him to buy one in better condition and to start enjoying it immediately, but he was insistent that he will restore them despite his advancing age. I started the research and as I expected it was not an easy task, both because of the low budget and because of the drivetrains he wanted. The V8 auto Mustangs ads were a lot more.
After about a month, I came upon this white 1966 Mustang, which was rusty, but had a lot of new parts installed in it: fuel tank, radiator, distributor, carburetor etc. It was also at a very good price. My friend decided that this will be his next car despite the rusty undercarriage. We had to act quickly because there were other people interested in it as well. We managed to buy it and in August 2023 the car arrived in Bulgaria. As expected, it needed a bit of body work, and my friend asked me to help him with finding new body panels. I delivered him all the requested parts: rear frame rails with torque boxes, floor pans, complete trunk floor assembly and front frame rails. They cost almost a fortune, because of the expensive delivery, but now the car has all the necessary body panels and is awaiting it’s turn for a restoration.
