1978 Pontiac Trans am. This car has everything!!! Believed to be original 47 000 miles, matching numbers W72 high output engine, WS6 performance suspension, 4 speed Borgwarner T-10 manual transmission, T-Tops, A/C, Deluxe interior, power windows, cruise control and the list goes on. Exterior: The body is in very good condition. It has no rust, because it was restored. The car was originally gold color, but was repainted by the current owner.…
1978 Pontiac Trans am. This car has everything!!! Believed to be original 47 000 miles, matching numbers W72 high output engine, WS6 performance suspension, 4 speed Borgwarner T-10 manual transmission, T-Tops, A/C, Deluxe interior, power windows, cruise control and the list goes on. And of course it is black!
Exterior: The body is in very good condition. It has no rust, because it was restored. The car was originally gold color, but was repainted by the current owner. The paint job is only 1 year old and was professionally done. The car has a custom eagle on the hood and flames from the fenders air vents. The glass is good. The undercarriage has no rust, but the patch work on the floor pans is not well done. The rear frame rails are solid. The front subframe mounts are new.
Interior: The seats have their original upholstery. The dash has a crack. All gauges work except for the clock and fuel gauge. The car has an aftermarket radio. The carpet is new, but needs a good cleaning. The door panels are in fair condition, as well as the headliner. The driver’s side door armrest is broken. The weather seals are old and the T tops are leaking. The doors need new seals. The plastic panels in the rear passenger area are faded. The trunk area is in excellent condition and there is no bodywork on it.
Mechanical: The original 400 W72 engine runs well, but idles a little bit rough. It has no smoke and leaks. It has new spark plugs, wires, head gaskets and valves. The carburetor has new gaskets. The 4 speed manual transmission needs a new clutch and it’s shifter needs attention but has new oil. Otherwise it shifts through all the gears and has no noises and leaks. The A/C does not work, but all the parts are present.
The brakes are new all around with new brake booster, master cylinder and rubber lines and shoes. The tires have a lot of thread, but are old.
The coolant system has a new aluminum radiator. The gas tank is also new. The exhaust system was also redone in 2021.
