Few months after I imported the 1959 Cadillac for my friend it was obvious that the restoration of the car will take a while. He was enjoying the 1960 Impala and his 71 Mustang Mach 1, but he wanted one more car. Again a late 50s car. This time we decided to look for something in better condition that he will start enjoying right after it arrives. I advised my friend for a Virgil Exner’s Forwardlook model, because of the beautiful design and he agreed.
I was happy, because I had to find a car that is among my most favorite models and this car will be in my country. It didn’t take long when I came upon an Ebay listing for 1960 Chrysler Windsor 4 door htp. It was incredibly low mile car with the original plastic seat covers which were in poor condition, but the original upholstery was excellent. The seller was a Mopar guy, who had several nice cars and his business was selling parts for classic Chrysler Corp vehicles. The listing was posted just several hours earlier, so I was among the first people to see the car. Upon a short research I was confident that the Buy it now price was very fair. I showed the car to my friend and he liked it too. I got in touch with the seller and after his confirmation I hit the Buy it now button.
I had a small issue convincing the seller to provide me his bank details for the bank transfer. He was an old man and kind of distrustful, but finally everything was arranged and we made the payment. Few months lately the car arrived in Bulgaria (August 2016). We were glad to see how original and well preserved it was. The engine ran great, the transmission shifted smoothly. The car needed only some brake work and as expected the paint was not great. The car has been originally white with white interior. At one point it has been repainted black. Recently my friend got it repainted to the original color as per my advice and the car looks beautiful. It got several requests for wedding parties very quickly.
